About

Dear Reader,

I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Sarah Grace Thompson (née Engel). I grew up in Southern California, earned a master of theological studies degree at Duke Divinity School, and now live in East Texas with my husband, our cat, and our dog. In addition to writing and editing, I have the immense honor of working part time as a hospital chaplain.

I hope, in this life and on this blog, to write for all people, regardless of affiliation or lack thereof. I myself grew up Episcopalian, and have grown in appreciation of Methodism through my husband, a UMC pastor. But far more important, I’m a child of God—and I think you are, too.

My thought centers around divine Love and Grace, and I strive to employ scripture, tradition, and reason, as well as my own experience, to discuss these. I very much hope you join me in contemplation as I learn and share.

Sincerely,

SG

P.S. You can find more of my work on the website of Mockingbird, a multifaceted ministry I cannot recommend enough, and that of Faith & Leadership, based at Duke Divinity School.
